WIHA is dedicated to ensuring access to safe and clean water for underserved communities worldwide through the implementation of sustainable water projects.
WIHA, a nonprofit organization with a heartfelt mission, was established amidst the global pandemic of 2020 by a group of compassionate individuals. United by a common passion, our founders are driven to alleviate the water crisis, starting in Ethiopia. With a deep personal connection to Ankober, Ethiopia, where our inaugural project is underway, we feel a profound sense of responsibility to improve the lives of our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia and beyond.
Derived from the Amharic word for water, WIHA embodies our organization's purpose: to bring safe and clean drinking water to underprivileged families through the implementation of sustainable water projects. Water is the vital thread that connects all aspects of life, from health and nutrition to hygiene, sanitation, education, gender equality, and local economies.
At WIHA, we firmly believe in the power of collaboration. By joining forces, we can ensure that everyone has access to clean water and create lasting, transformative change. Our approach involves implementing comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene programs in rural communities, addressing immediate needs while fostering long-term sustainability. We place a strong emphasis on monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of our water projects, guaranteeing their effectiveness and maximizing their impact.
We uphold the values of honesty, integrity, transparency, and confidentiality. Our unwavering dedication to our mission drives us to make a tangible difference in the lives of underserved communities. Join us on this transformative journey towards universal access to safe and clean water.
